<p>TRN is equipped and prepared to address the educational and training needs of many Special interest groups, such as older workers, individuals with disabilities, individual with language barriers, and other special populations, who are unemployed or under employed.  It is important that we understand the barriers these groups face and help them address their individual needs. Through diverse educational training we become better equipped to serving and understanding the needs of all members of society.</p>
<p>TRN has tutoring assistance available for participants who are having difficulty in math and reading or generally just keeping up with work assignments.  Mentors are available for guidance, counseling and to make referrals for additional support.  Qualified teachers will be utilizing computerized learning systems, classroom lecture, and one-on-one instruction to conduct classes.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">Older Workers</h2>
<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-110" style="margin-left: 25px; margin-right: 25px;" title="trninc14" src="http://trn-inc.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/trninc14.jpg" alt="" width="185" height="210" />Every day older workers are either being laid-off or let go from companies for a variety of reasons.  This group is finding it hard to obtain or return to work because their skills and abilities may be outdated.  TRN is prepared to provide them an opportunity for re-employment through education and training.  Training would provide job search, job readiness, job club, and job placement services.  Other training opportunities that may be available include: customer service training, computer business training, certified nurse aid training, and others.  TRN works jointly with other organizations, such as Operation Able, Goodwill Industries, Triple A for Area on Aging and the Area Agency on Aging to maximize services and activities.</p>

<h2>Individuals with Disabilities</h2>
<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-37" style="margin-left: 25px; margin-right: 25px;" title="special_populations" src="http://trn-inc.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/special_populations-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="188" height="188" />TRN has and is ready to service the needs of individuals with disabilities.  TRN works with several employers that hire persons with disabilities. TRN has had great success in providing opportunities for this population in the areas of customer service training and computer business training.  Job Search, Job Readiness training and Job Club are also available assets to assist these individuals with their job search.  In addition, TRN has experienced Job Developers and placement staff who will work one-on-one with these individuals to get them employed.   TRN works jointly Michigan Rehabilitation Services to coordinate activities and services.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">Individuals with Cultural or Language Barriers</h2>

We help them with language issues, customs, citizenship, training, and employment opportunities.  TRN has an unparalleled reputation for partnering and consulting with a wide variety of community and cultural based organizations.</p>
<h2>Language Translation</h2>
<p>TRN has served over 4,800 individuals from diverse populations with language and cultural barriers for over 16 years.  With a growing number of non-English speaking people in the United States today, there is a great need to have translators for Arabic, Spanish, and Asian populations.  TRN will provide training in the English, Arabic, and Spanish languages.  Once an individual has completed these courses they will have the ability to work in fields that require translation services.</p>

<h2>ESL – English as a Second Language</h2>
<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-112" style="margin-left: 25px; margin-right: 25px;" title="trninc17" src="http://trn-inc.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/trninc17.jpg" alt="" width="172" height="167" /></p>
<p>The focus for the ESL student will be on reading, comprehension, communication, and vocabulary skills.  The program has three components:  Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced.  In the first component the course is focused on the alphabet, phonetics, structure of the English Language, basic reading and writing skills.  In the second component the focus is on intermediate reading and writing skills along with conversational skills.  Component three will focus on the more advanced reading and writing skills and preparing the student to take the GED exam, and helping students with societal skills.</p>
<h2>Job Readiness Training</h2>
<p>TRN provides training in job readiness that encompasses the following areas: resume development, interviewing skills, labor market information, career exploration, work ethics, job search strategies, planning, removing barriers that hinder employment opportunities, motivational sessions, understanding what diversity means and cultural awareness.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">Job Club</h2>

<p>During job club the participant will continue with their job search strategies.  Job club will focus on role playing, mock interviews, cold calling, acing the interview, finding job opportunities in the hidden job market and through networking, going on informational interviews, job fairs, and applying for jobs over the Internet.</p>

<p><span style="font-size: small;"> </span><span style="font-size: small;">The Resource Network provides training in the areas of Life Skills Management, Finance Management, Work Ethics, Motivational and Inspirational Workshops, support service information and referrals for items such as housing, utilities, clothing and food assistance.  This program includes preparing the participant to move into unsubsidized employment and to become self-reliant.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">TRN understands that all people learn at very different paces, therefore, all training sessions are open entry/open exit.  TRN will continue to work with individuals until they become gainfully employed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">TRN will provide Assessment testing to measure and determine what areas the participant may need to improve upon, what barriers to employment they may have and to see if occupational training may be of benefit to them in their quest to become employed. </span><span style="font-size: small;">Participants will participate in Job Search/Job Readiness workshops and Job Club where they will learn about the World of Work, Employment Expectations, Skills Identification, Applications, References and Letters of Recommendation, the Labor Market, Cold Calling/Telephone Techniques and Etiquette, Resumes, Cover and Thank you Letters, Interviewing, and how to plan and organize their job search.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">TRN also offers support service counseling and case management.  Case managers will work with the participant to determine their goals and objectives, to find out if they need referrals for housing, food assistance, medical needs and others.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">The objective of the program is to help the participant better manage their life by obtaining the following skills:</span></p>

<li><span style="font-size: small;">the ability to manage finances</span></li>

<p><span style="font-size: small;"> </span>The Patient Care Assistant is multi-skilled and can perform a variety of duties under the supervision of a nurse.  These duties may include standard patient care services and other administrative non-professional procedures.  If you care about people and their health, this course is for you.  Learn to become a Patient Care Assistant and find job opportunities in hospitals, medical offices, nursing homes, rehabilitative care facilities, home care, dialysis treatment centers, and others.  Upon successful completion of the Patient Care Assistant training, the student will have mastered skills in phlebotomy, EKG, and total patient care.</p>
<p>The total length of training is 12 weeks covering lecture, clinical internship experience, lab, and customer service skills.  To enroll in this program, the student must pass a pre-entry exam and must have already satisfactory completed a Certified Nurse Aide Training program with the State of Michigan Certification awarded.</p>

Every job requires good customer service.  Learn what it takes to keep customers and colleagues happy and satisfied.  If you’re motivated, customers will be motivated.  Learn how to keep your customers forever.</p>

Designs and presents exciting and informative participant centered training sessions.  Provides instruction in rudimentary computer skills.  Maintains detailed records on participant attendance, participation, academic progress, and special needs.  Works cooperatively with case managers, job developers, instructors, and trainers to assist the participant in becoming financially independent members of society.  Provides either individual or group instruction in basic reading and math remediation.  Administers pre- and post tests to determine the progress of participants enrolled in the class. <p><strong>Recruiter,</strong> plans and directs activities for outreach and recruitment of employers and participants for program services.  Provides group or individual orientations and certifications.  Builds and maintains working relationships with area employers, schools, and community organizations to understand their needs and their job requirements.  Participates as a member of the team; working cooperatively with case managers, teachers and trainers to assist participants in obtaining gainful employment.  Develops marketing strategies based on the company’s established policies and procedures and the nature of the market. Explains certification and orientation requirements to participants, and provides overview of company services and benefits.  May provide off-site Intake services as part of a unit team in educational institutions, human services facilities, and/or other agencies.  Represents the company before neighborhood groups to establish communication and rapport between persons in the community and the company, to facilitate outreach and recruitment, to publicize company services available, and to assist in resolving problems facing employers and participants.  Follows up with contacts and submits reports of activities; maintains files and records of activities to provide access and retrieval of data.  High level of interpersonal skills; ability to work with diversified groups of people and all levels of staff.  Strong oral and written communication skills. Past experience working with state and federally funded programs. Maintains a current knowledge of all federal, state, and local government rules and regulations. Experience with federal, state and local rules and regulations.  PC skills include Windows based data entry and word processing.  Experience in exploring and presenting information and resources. Excellent follow-up skills with employers and participants.</p>

Trainers must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of interpersonal skills for working with customers, community organizations, other agencies, and potential employers.  Experienced in presenting quality employment and training workshops.  Knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Experience using several computer software applications including: MS Word, WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint, Job Matching, Resume Writing, MOIS, and the Internet for job search activities.</p>
<p><strong>Tutor,</strong> Tutors will tutor participants in academic subjects, such as Literature and the Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Writing Skills.  This may be accomplished in a group setting and/or one on one and will include adapting curriculum to meet the participant’s needs.  Will provide assistance to the teacher in preparing individualize plans for tutoring participants.  Tutor’s will evaluate and monitor the student’s progress.  Will also maintain detailed records on participant’s participation, special needs, and academic progress.  Adapts curriculum to meet the participant’s needs.  Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of teaching basic literacy skills and GED preparation.  Relies on experience and judgment to reach company and participant’s goals for successful completion of the programs.  Works under general supervision. Participates as a member of the team; working cooperatively with case managers, job developers, and job club instructors to assist in placing participants into unsubsidized employment.  Assesses and counsels participants regarding employment opportunities.  Presents Employment and Training Workshops.  Knowledge of state and federal funded programs rules and regulations as they pertain to any particular grant program.</p>

Assists with retention.  Assists participants with faxing of resumes, letters, etc.  May assist with orientations when needed  Provides clerical duties and program support to all staff.  Maintains all program activity sign-in sheets in binders.  Makes a copy of sign-in sheets and files copies in the appropriate participant file.  Maintains resource information for program participants and replenishes materials on a regular basis.  Maintains lobby area and phone bank, assuring these areas are kept clean and safe.</p>
<p><strong>Clerical, </strong>Provides telephone support and performs other clerical tasks.  This position also provides program support to all staff which may include filing, data entry, correspondence, etc.  May assist in providing general orientation to program participants which includes intake; completing enrollment paperwork and collecting required back-up documents to be copied and placed in the participant file.  Maintains all mailing lists of participants and employers and is responsible for the preparation and processing of specific mailings.  Assists program participants with photocopying, faxing of resumes, letters, etc.  Experienced in  office machines; copier, facsimile, 10-key adding machine, postage meter, multi-line phone systems, etc.  Experience in data input. <p>TRN is equipped and prepared to address the educational and training needs of the Iraqi population, who are unemployed or under employed with cultural and language barriers.  It is important that we understand this population and for them to understand us.  Through diverse educational training we become better equipped to serve and understand the needs of all members of this society.</p>
<p>TRN will have tutoring assistance available for participants who are having difficulty in math and reading or generally just keeping up with work assignments.  Mentors will be provided for guidance, counseling and to make referrals for additional support.  Qualified teachers will be utilizing computerized learning systems, classroom lecture, and one-on-one instruction to conduct classes.</p>
<p><strong>Language Translation</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://trn-inc.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/trninc-100.gif"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-178" title="trninc-100" src="http://trn-inc.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/trninc-100-300x199.gif" alt="" width="300" height="199" /></a>TRN has served over 4,800 individuals from diverse populations with language and cultural barriers for over 16 years.  For over ten years, TRN has had staff members fluent in Arabic and Chaldean.  In the United States today, there is a growing need to have translators and Iraqi speaking individuals.  TRN will provide training in the English language and Iraqi dialects.  Once an individual has completed these courses they will have the ability to work in fields that require translation services.</p>
<p><strong>Role Play</strong></p>
<p>Role playing is a very important aspect in breaking the barriers of communication between different Iraqi communities.  The student will learn about Iraqi customs, family traditions, languages, religions, and adapting into their civilization.  This will enable the student to be able to fit in, understand their  environment, and relate to people without being offensive.  Through practice exercises, the student will learn how to handle and identify difficult situations, about the different types of leadership, and communication through appropriate channels within the family unit in order not to be offensive.  The student will then be able to help facilitate in the teaching of these aspects of Iraqi life to others.</p>
<p><strong>ESL – English as a Second Language</strong></p>
<p>The focus for the ESL student will be on reading, comprehension, communication, and vocabulary skills.  The program has three components:  Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced.  In the first component the course is focused on the alphabet, phonetics, structure of the English Language, basic reading and writing skills.  In the second component the focus is on intermediate reading and writing skills along with conversational skills.  Component three will focus on the more advanced reading and writing skills and preparing the student to take the GED exam, and helping students with societal skills.</p>

<p><strong>Occupational Training</strong></p>
<p>Occupational training is available through our school, Career Essentials Learning Center, and other colleges and universities.  If you are looking for training we have the resources necessary to refer you to agencies that can assist you with student loans and/or financial aid funds.</p>
